Building an iOS App with No Code AI Tools

In the ever-evolving world of technology, it's getting easier to create sophisticated applications without writing a single line of code. Today, I'm diving into no code AI tools and showcasing how I built an iOS app for a hotel booking business called Zello, using Light API.

Starting with No Code Development

It's amazing how accessible app development is these days. Using no code development tools like RORK, we can create full-fledged applications without prior programming knowledge. I recently built an iOS application for Zello, and the process was streamlined, thanks to the brilliant integration capabilities of the Light API. This API lets you access over two million hotels worldwide, which is quite the game-changer.

Designing an Intuitive Interface

Using RORK, I started by mapping out a comprehensive product requirement document (PRD) through ChatGPT, which outlines all essential features for the app. This planning is crucial when aiming to leverage AI tools effectively for iOS app development. By designing the interface ahead of time, I was able to create a smooth user experience, complete with room options, reviews, and more.

Implementing API Integration

Integrating the Light API was a key aspect of this project, enabling real-time data retrieval for hotel pricing and availability. The backend is managed seamlessly through RORK's built-in integration features, which include secret environment variables for API keys. This ensures that sensitive information remains secure and easy to manage.

Publishing the App on App Store

After app completion, RORK's straightforward publishing capabilities allowed me to prepare for deployment on the App Store. Notably, the tool supports publishing through Expo, making it easier to get our app running on both iOS and Android platforms. Even troubleshooting remained a breeze, with most issues resolving with just a click.
